La Herradura is divided into several distinct areas. The town center, where you’ll find shops, restaurants and local amenities, the beach area which boasts a 2 km promenade full of amenities, restaurants, bars, shops, water sports activities and an expansive countryside area. In accordance with Town Hall, on the western side of the bay, the neighbourhoods of Peña Parda-Las Palomas and the Cerro Gordo-Maro Nature Reserve offer incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea and the turquoise waters of Playa Cantarriján, a beach about 400 meters long and 43 meters wide known as a nudist beach. This is one of the first in Spain to be officially designated as naturist.

Reaching the beach involves a 1.5 km walk from the national road and during the summer season (from July 1 to August 31), private vehicles are not allowed. Instead, a minibus service operates from mid June to help visitors access the beach.
